Asante faces over $488 million in
damages with new drug diversion lawsuit
Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Oregon, faces over $488 million in lawsuits after a former nurse allegedly replaced patients’ fentanyl with tap water, causing infections and at least 16 deaths. The hospital is being sued by 23 parties, though experts say bankruptcy is unlikely due to its strong revenue. The nurse faces 44 counts of second-degree assault and is out on $4 million bail, with a pretrial hearing set for December 30.
